Riley's Diagnosis

Riley James Faiai is my 2 year old son who was born with Craniosynostosis and probable Pfeiffer syndrome. When he was 5 months old, Riley had surgery to reconstruct his skull. This blog is the journal, story, and timeline that has helped me put Riley's Journey into words. Post Op Appointment Update.

Well...this appointment definitely broke the record for the "shortest appointment" in L.A.
The appointment was 4 minutes long...and that's only because I asked a few questions!!

The doctor said Riley looks great!! He also said that the bump in his leg is just a clot of blood from the IV that will go away in a week or so.

I took a picture of Riley with his Neurosurgeon (brain surgeon), Dr. Cahan. He was part of a 4 man team of doctors who performed Riley's surgery. His job was to maneuver and take care of Riley's brain during the entire procedure. He definitely played the most important role, in my book!

Lauren and Steve,

Riley looks fantastic! Glad to hear that his recovery is coming along really well and that the bump on his leg is not a tumor (Lauren you're so crazy!) :) We continue to lift you all up and can't wait till we're all well so that we can come and visit the star patient.

Lots of Love,
