Riley's Diagnosis

Riley James Faiai is my 2 year old son who was born with Craniosynostosis and probable Pfeiffer syndrome. When he was 5 months old, Riley had surgery to reconstruct his skull. This blog is the journal, story, and timeline that has helped me put Riley's Journey into words. Oh Happy Day

I thought I'd never see the day that Riley's eczema would go away, but folks... THE DAY HAS COME!! His face has completely cleared up and he hasn't scratched in about a MONTH...which just so happens to be how long we've been feeding him whole milk instead of formula. So, we've concluded that Riley must have been allergic to something in the formula.

Other than a KILLER ear infection that we've been treating, Riley is almost totally healthy! He'll be one year old on the 24th of THIS MONTH! He's crawling all over the place and can stand and walk around our furniture on his own. He still needs to go in for an extensive hearing test sometime this month, but we've definitely seen tremendous progress in his hearing since his surgery.

Riley and Cameron get along well, except for when Riley is playing with a toy that Cameron wants...which seems to be ALL THE TIME. They give each other kisses and hugs and Cameron prays for Riley every night before bed.

We frequent the beach and spend lots of time out doors doing things to keep cool during this CRAZY HOT summer. Here are some recent pictures of my Riley boy.
